Decorate The Season With Stampin' Up!

It is that time of year again where we are buying and wrapping Christmas gifts.  What better way to do this then by joining my Decorate the Season Class where we will be making a muslin bag, a beautiful gift box, and 6 gift tags.

I will be holding the class on Monday December 9th from 1pm to 5pm and an evening version of the class on Thursday December 12th from 7pm to 10pm. The class will cost $10 or will be FREE with a $40 Catalogue order.  We will be having some Christmas cookies to snack on and will also have hot chocolate, coffee or tea to drink.

This was my busiest class last year so please get back to me as soon as possible with your name, phone number and what class you would like to attend, I have 8 spots for each class. I will then send my address and parking instructions.

Just wanted to let everyone know, that the last catalogue order must be put in on December 10th in order to receive your Stampin' Up! products before Christmas.

Thanks so much

November Christmas Card Classes

For many years now, my mom and I get together starting in November and make many Christmas cards to give out to friends, relatives and neighbors.  Because of this tradition I decided that I would host four Christmas card classes this November.

The first class is called Frosty The Snowman where we will be making these two playful and fun snowman cards.  The class will take place on Monday November 11 from 1pm to 4pm  and Thursday November 14th from 7pm to 10pm.

The second class is called Winter Wonderland, and we will be making these beautiful yet unique snowflake cards. These classes
will take place on Monday November 18 from 1pm to 4pm and Thursday November 21 from 7pm to 10 pm.

Each class cost is $6 or the class is free with a $30 catalogue order.  The class includes all the supplies to complete two cards, two envelopes, snacks, and water, coffee and tea to drink.

I only have 8 spots for each class time so please RSVP as soon as possible to hold your spot.  Please e-mail me with your name, phone number and which class you would like to participate in.

The classes will take place at my studio at 45 Adelaide Street.  Please park in the front of the building and buzz 204.

I am sure these cards will be as much fun to teach as they were to make!

Undefined: The Stamping Tribute to My Brother

In April my brother Parry past away due to complications from Crohn's Disease.

My brother was wonderfully creative, and was a great help when something was not working right on a card.  He would give me one suggestion that always would complete the project.

Parry was always looking through my Stampin' Up! Catalogues to find "manly" stamps.  I remember him asking "is there any paw print stamps?"

I was very excited when Stampin' Up! came up with the Undefined Carving Kit, a kit that allows you to carve any image you want. I immediately put in an order and when I received my order started carving paw prints in dedication to my brother.  I decided to do a Wolf, Puma and Tiger paw as these are the animals my brother had drawn in the past.

The Undefined Kit includes two carving tools, rubber, foam, 4 wood blocks, one island indigo marker, 3 postcards, instruction sheet and a stamp image template.

The steps to making the stamps are fairly simple. First you draw an image with a 2B pencil (something greater then HB). Turn the image over and rub it on the rubber with your finger, you will then get a reverse image.   The rubber is then ready to carve. Use the large tool to take out large spaces and the small tool to go around the edges of the image.  Be very careful not to over do it especially with small areas of your image, once you make the cut there is no reversing it.  Cut around the finished image with scissors.  Stamp the carved image with Staz-on ink and apply it to the block where you will be placing the image.  Then take the foam and cut around your carved image and stick the carved image to the block.  You are Done!

I took the post cards and stamped all over them and sent them to a few family members. I can't wait until they see them, I bet they will never know that I created the stamps myself.

Another project I have been working on is a CD Compilation for my Mom.  Parry was a huge music lover and had over 700 songs on his I-Pod.  This project was difficult for me to do as many songs remind me of funny times Parry and I had together.  But it also was very fun.

I ended up making three CD's for my Mom to listen to.  For the CD covers I used my Undefined: Paw Print Stamps and the Morning Post Alphabet Stamps, which made a very manly front cover.

For the back of the CD I printed out the song lists on very vanilla card stock and finished it off with a few paw prints

It is so wonderful that Stampin' Up! has given me a great creative outlet to deal with the passing of my brother.  I know Parry would have been very proud of what I have created.

I like to celebrate all things Fall, the beautiful colours, joining with family at Thanksgiving and seeing all the children on Halloween.  The Gently falling card class celebrates all these things by making three projects.

The card class will feature the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit, a great project kit from the 2013 Holiday Catalogue.    It will also feature the NEW Thinlit Card Die, which is a very easy way to make a pop-up type card.

Blow Out The Candles Card Class

The classes for August are called Blow Out the Candles, as August is huge for my family and Birthdays.  The class will take place on August 12th from 1pm to 4 pm and Thursday August 15th from 7 pm to 10 pm.

The most exciting part about this class is I will teach how to make flowers and buttons to add to paper crafting projects. This technique is especially great for when you can't find a colour of button that matches a project.

The cost for the class is $10 and includes the new August 1st Seasonal Catalogue, a snack which will be vanilla cake, drinks including coffee, tea or water, envelopes and all the supplies to make two cards.   OR The class is free for those who make a $40 order (before taxes and shipping).

There are also many new items and great sales this month.  Please RSVP by Friday August the 9th.

    Field of Flowers Card Class

    Field Of Flowers Card Class

As the flowers keep blooming on my balcony I thought it would be a great time of year to teach some flower cards.  On Thursday July 18th from 7 pm to 10 pm and Monday July 22 from 1 pm to 4 pm I will be teaching the techniques to make these two cards.

These classes are always great for friends or family members who like to try different activities together, it is a great girls night out, and it is especially a great break away from every day life.  The class will be fun for beginners or those who are experienced with card making as I will teach step by step how to stamp, dry and wet emboss, punch and how to use Framlits.

The class will cost $10 and will include pretzels for snack, tea, water and coffee, envelopes, and all the supplies to make the two cards. The class will be FREE for those who purchase a $40 order from the catalogue.  Please feel free to contact me at lissarose79@hotmail.com to register for the class. So excited to teach these cards and show everyone my balcony full of flowers.

    Oh Boy! Masculine Card Class

Masculine cards are the most hard cards to create, so in the honor of father's day my June class will be based on men.  I will be teaching how to make both the cards I have posted.  I had a great time creating both these cards this week using The Open Sea stamp set and the Lovely as a Tree stamp set, both beautiful masculine sets created by Stampin' Up!.  With these cards you can change the labels on them to make a Father's Day Card or a Birthday Card.

The class will cost $10 and will include supplies to make the cards, envelopes, pretzels for snack and your choice of water, coffee or tea to drink. . Or the class will be free for those who make a $40 order out of the New Catalogue.  This is also a great time to come to class because you will receive the brand New 2013-2014 Catalogue for FREE (One copy per person).

The class will take place at two different times, one on Thursday June 13th from 7 pm to 10 pm and the other will take place on Saturday June 15th from 1 pm to 4 pm.  Please e-mail me if you wish to attend.

    Paper Pumkin March Fun!!!

On March 25th I sat down far a half an hour to open and create my Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I was delighted with the Welcome Kit as it contained 4 cards and envelopes, a block, two clear mount stamps, ink spot, embellishments and instructions to make the cards.

I opened the package and got right to work, the only things I added was a brad, Boho Blossom punch pieces and adhesive.  It did not take much time but was very enjoyable to accomplish 4 cards in 30 minuets.

It was very easy to sign up for this kit, very much like a magazine subscription, all I did was go to www.mypaperpumpkin.com and signed up before March 10th. For April you have to sign up before April 10th to get the kit. The kit are a surprise but could contain cards, decor or other projects that will reflect the season.

The cost of the kit is $24.95 a month and includes shipping and handling, a very reasonable price for a card kit!

April 22nd and May 20th I will open my studio so everyone who buys the Paper Pumpkin kit can come and use my punches and ink for free.  Please let me know that you bought your kit and will be coming to create with me.

I can't wait to receive my April kit :)
